The brief we gave ourselves

Ledge & Till lays patios, walls and steps by hand. We wrote the brief a real owner might bring us: show the stone work big, make every step of a job easy to follow, and make asking for a quote quick on a phone.

Business
Stone and hardscape (made up)
Town
None: a made-up business has no town
Before
No website
We built
A home page and a project story, for phone and desktop

Before and after

Before: no website, only a name and a phone number. After: the site we designed and built.

No website

After: the Ledge & Till concept home page, a lit fire pit and patio under the line Patios, walls and steps, laid by hand

What we built

Pages
Two. A home page with the work, a scroll story of a stone job, a before and after, the services, how a job runs and a quote form. And a project story for a pool terrace.
Website SEO
A page title and meta description for both pages. No town pages or schema here, because a made-up business has no town or address. A client's site gets a page for each town they serve and schema for their business.
Photos and motion
14 freely licensed photos of stone work, credited on the site, standing in for a client's own job photos. Four photos hand over as you scroll: dig, base, lay, live. Plus a before and after slider and a service picker.
The quote form
It checks each answer and thanks you by name. On the concept it sends nothing. On a client's site it goes straight to their inbox.
After launch
Nothing, it's a concept. A client's site gets monthly upkeep with hosting, and SEO+ if they want it.

The site

The home page, the project story, and the home page on a phone.

Open the concept
Ledge & Till concept home page on a laptop: patio and fire pit photo with a Free quote button
Ledge & Till concept project story: the title Pool terrace across two photos of a lit house and stone terrace
Ledge & Till concept site on a phone: fire pit photo, the headline and a Call button

What we'd measure

A concept has no customers, so there are no results to show. On a client's site, this is what the monthly report tracks.

See a sample monthly report

Calls

How many people tapped the phone number to call.

Quote requests

How many people sent the quote form.

Google

What people searched to find the site, and how often it showed up.

Try it yourself

Scroll the stone job, drag the before and after, and fill in the quote form. It all works, it just sends nothing.
