Websites

Is the first call free?

Yes. The call and your quote are free, and there's no pressure to sign anything.

What comes with a website?

Every website comes with Website SEO: pages for the towns you serve, a title and description for every page, and schema. You approve the design before we build, and we test the site at 8 screen widths.

Do you use templates?

No. Before we design anything, we hold a design meeting with you about how you want to come across: your tone, what you like and don't like, your colors, and what must be on the site. We show you a few looks, you pick one (or a blend), and we build from your choice, your photos and your words.

What is Website SEO?

The groundwork that helps people in your towns find you on Google: town pages, page titles and descriptions, and schema, the hidden labels that tell Google who you are and what you do. It comes with every site.

Will it work on phones?

Yes. We build for the phone first, then test every page, button, form and animation at 8 screen widths, from small phones to big screens.

Can you use photos of my own jobs?

Yes, and we'd rather. Your site is built from your own photos, never stock. We start with what's already on your site and profiles, and ask before we use any of it.

SEO+

What is SEO+?

A separate service for your Google Business Profile: we set it up and plan it, post to it every month, and keep working on your SEO.

Is SEO+ part of the website price?

No. SEO+ is a separate service. Website SEO is what comes with every website.

Do I need SEO+ to show up on Google?

No. Every website comes with Website SEO, the groundwork for being found. SEO+ adds monthly work on your Google Business Profile, if you want more.

Upkeep

What does monthly upkeep cover?

A report every month, care for your site, and hosting. It's one plan, never a separate hosting bill. For owners it's $150 a month on a 12-month agreement or $125 on 24. Your first agreement is 12 or 24 months. After that, you can renew for 6, 12 or 24.

Is hosting extra?

No. If you own your site, hosting is part of monthly upkeep. If you rent, it's part of the rent.

Do I have to sign up for upkeep?

No, upkeep is optional. If you skip it, we set your site up on free hosting in your own name when it launches, for a one-time $250 setup, and hand you the keys. Any changes after that, just email us for a quote. If you rent, upkeep is already included.

What happens when my contract ends?

You can renew for 6, 12 or 24 months. If you don't, the site comes down. If you own it, we keep a saved copy until you're ready to come back, and if you'd rather have someone else look after it, just let us know and we'll move it for you, free. A rented site comes down the same way, and stays with us unless you buy it out.

Can I change things on my site later?

Yes, it's your site. Monthly upkeep includes 5 hours of edits a quarter, with 1 seasonal refresh. Unused hours expire at the end of each quarter, and for anything beyond that, just email us and we'll quote it.

Ownership

Can I rent a website instead?

Yes. It’s $300 a month for 5 pages, plus $15 a month for each extra page, with hosting, site care, a monthly report and edits included. Your first agreement is 12 months at $300 a month (+$15 a page past 5). After that, renew for 6 months ($300 + $15 a page), 12 months ($275 + $12 a page) or 24 months ($250 + $10 a page). You can buy it out later. How renting works

What if I don't like it?

We keep working on it with you until you're happy. You don't pay the second half until you are. And once it's paid, the website is yours, in writing.

Do I own my website?

Yes. Once the build is paid in full, the site is yours: the design, the words and the code. It says so in your agreement.

Who owns my domain?

You do, always. It stays in your name. When we go live we point only the website records and never touch your email.

What if I don't have a domain yet?

We'll get one for you, in your name. You pay exactly what the domain company charges, with nothing added on top.

What if I want to leave?

We hand everything over (the code, your photos, your words and your reports) and help you move, with no handover fee.

Process

How does a build start?

With a call. You tell us about your business, then we research it: your current site, photos, reviews, competitors and what people search for in your towns.

Do I see the design before it's built?

Yes. You click through a full preview of every page, with real photos and motion, and approve it before we build anything.

How long does a site take?

About a week from start to launch: research on day 1, a design meeting on days 1-2, page designs you approve on days 2-3, the build on days 4-5, polish and your review on day 6, and launch on day 7. The week depends on getting your photos and your approval of the page designs on time.

How much does a website cost?

To own it: $2,500 for a 5-page website, with Website SEO included, and $125 for each extra page. To rent it: $300 a month for 5 pages, plus $15 a month for each extra page, with upkeep included and nothing up front. Either way, your town pages count toward the 5.

Who puts the site live?

We do, once you've approved the finished site. The same day we test the site, your forms, click-to-call and your email.
